A cholera quarantine station

Fejan was a cholera quarantine station at the end if the 19th century. The Fejan restaurant is in the boathouse (formerly the autopsy room). The Kongo house was ment to be a mission hall in the Congo, but was moved here and used as a doctor´s residence insted. Along with the Wasa house, it is now part of Fejan´s youth hostel.

You´ll also find a guest jetty, kayak hire, a small general store, a sauna and more. The Archipelago Foundation manages the area around the restaurant. A delicatessen with small café is located on the east side of the island.

Fejan is served by Waxholm boats from Stockholm and by passanger ferries from Räfsnäs.
