He mainly sculpts in “the naturalistic style" with plasticine, casting using the "lost wax" method with the end product in bronze, but also silver, concrete and plâtre resine (so-called hard plaster, polyester plaster).
Nature has always been a crucial source of inspiration. Over the years, he has had valuable opportunities to study animal behavior and movement in the field as well as anatomy up close as a conservator.
Staffan Strand is a member of the Nordic Wildlife Art Society and Östhammars Konstnärsförening. He participates in a variety of exhibitions.
