Öregrund
Öregrund was granted a town charter in 1491 and became an important competitor to Stockholm when shipping flourished. The town has a turbulent history of accidental fires and devastating blazes set by both the Russians and the Danes. At the end of the 19th century, a bath house company was established and the town became a spa resort. A hotel, baths and a clubhouse were built. Visitors swarmed to Öregrund and ornate summer houses with glazed verandas were built, many of which are still standing today.
In Öregrund you can watch the sun go down over the water from one of the rocks that flank the city or while enjoying dinner at the Strandnära restaurant or restaurant Tullbacken. Enjoy accommodation at Klockargården, Epokgården, Lilla Hotell Wilma or Uddens bed and breakfast. You can also rent bicycles, canoes and small boats in Öregrund.
