Information

Ånghammaren means The Steam Hammer, and this forge, situated in the Österbybruk manor area, was in use from 1860 until 1941 when the sound of the hammers subsided. During the nineteen fifties, all industrial interiors were torn out to make room for a bus garage. The building subsequently deteriorated, but was reconditioned in 1992 thanks to grants from the Swedish National Heritage Board. Today, Ånghammaren is use throughout most of the year for events like art exhibitions, musical performances and fairs. With its open area of 780 square meters it is one of the few venues in the area with a capacity for events of this size. Surrounded by a historic manor house setting, strategically located close to Arlanda and several other cities, it is a unique venue of its kind!
